Reviews
From humble beginnings a few years ago, this place has really expanded. Even since last summer, it's opened up into a wide cow shed to the side of the initial bar area. The new section, bedecked with beer barrels along the walls, looks like a venue for a beer festival - an impression that is enhanced by the wide selection of beers on offer. It's now a very pleasant venue, with plenty of staff on hand. The Old Dairy beers are still very good. The only downside is that the food is quite amateurish, a food truck that couldn't make any food (due to some issue with electric). Consequently, we left to find lunch elsewhere.
Been here a few times over the years and every time it looks and gets better ! Last visit was on New Year’s Eve and had a lovely pint of red top. My father in law took us round the brewery tour many years ago so will always have a lovely memories here. Highly recommend !
Great tap room to pop into for a couple of beers and gins! Always a warm and friendly atmosphere - good to support a local business. Good outside area with lovely view - would definitely recommend.
Tucked away behind the station, twinkling lights invite you into an amazing place. There is a snug cosy bar area with wood burning fire and armchairs. Then the larger old dairy area where the band played with lots of seating and a bar with all the beers and ciders displayed. They had my favourite cider Night Jar. I was chuffed. The staff are friendly and no waiting at all great service.
The pizza truck was on hand for yummy pizza.
The cover band (Saturday 13th) was really good.
Toilets are good and clean.
Wonderful place set in the glorious Kent countryside. Terrific selection of beers, good wine and food trucks outside at weekends, plus live music when we came back on a Saturday night. Very highly recommended
Great beer and have visited the Taproom on a few occasions and it was good. However, in this day and age, not making your premises accessible for a wheelchair is just not acceptable. Ramps cost very little. My wife, who only has one leg and is in an electric wheelchair. She was told that the place is not suitable for wheelchairs. They could open up the back but there is still one step. Might as well be 10 steps. Shame. Another Tenterden venue that hasn't thought about people with a disability. If the brewery work something out, I'm happy to revisit this review and the Taproom.
I visited the Old Dairy with friends whilst in town for the Christmas fair - got to be honest, wasn't expecting much, and it far exceeded the little shack with one or two options of beers I thought it was likely going to be!
The Old Dairy is situated just behind the old railway off Station Road, there is some parking there. The brewery has a taproom, some space outside to sit, and if you come on certain days they also have a catering van so you can get some food with your beer. Inside the taproom it is surprisingly cosy with a mixture of chill out chairs and tall bar seats. It's not a massive area, but big enough! Next to the bar is bottled items and some merch that you can buy, and at the bar they have a variety of beers of tap - I really enjoyed the 'Table Beer'.
If you enjoy visiting taprooms or just like drinking beer then this is 100% worth a visit - we really enjoyed our short time here (I say short... we actually stayed here longer than we stayed for the rest of the Christmas fair!!)
Somewhat disappointing.
I had to interrupt the staff in their conversation to get a drink.
Customers' dogs were going behind the bar, and staff were petting them - this is not hygienic.
The toilet floor was wet with something, and I doubt it was mountain spring water.
The beer was OK, I guess.
